

I keep it super fun yet always professional, and will go above and beyond to serve my couples and their families. I show up on time, every time with a smile and a plan. Your day is about YOU and while I will totally create magic for you, the day is all about what you guys need and want over me getting pretty pictures for my Instagram. I try to occasionally share some behind the scenes stuff on my social media if time allows because it’s fun for you to see the next day, but more often than not I’m not ever on my phone because literally every minute is an opportunity to document something. Basically, I realize this is a HUGE day for you and your loved ones, and will be your eyes and ears so that you can relive your wedding day for years to come exactly how it looked and felt.
I AM SO NERVOUS THAT ME AND MY FIANCEE ARE GOING TO LOOK AWKWARD. DO YOU EVER HAVE COUPLES WHO FEEL LIKE THIS?
Try EVERYONE. No one is 100% comfortable being photographed makin’ out and I get it. You looking weird is a myth. After about 15 minutes you will feel comfortable and I use mostly posing prompts to get you both interacting naturally! I got you! You are also always encouraged to bring shots or drinks to your session if it will help you loosen up.
WILL YOU HELP US WITH THE PLANNING PROCESS?
YES! All of my couples receive my Wedding Guide upon booking which is a great place to start and where I share all of my wisdom from the many weddings I have shot! I also am available to help with timeline planning and love sending my preferred vendors list to all of my clients.
WHEN WILL I RECEIVE MY PICTURES?
I try to give all of my brides and grooms sneak peeks within a couple of weeks of the wedding, but turn around time for weddings is 60 days per contract and engagements, boudoir sessions, etc. are 30 days. I also know it stinks to have to wait, and I pride myself on keeping you updated on the editing process and getting photos to you in a timely manner! No ghosting here!
HOW WILL I RECEIVE MY PICTURES?
You will receive your final gallery via a beautiful and organized digital gallery. You will receive a link via email with detailed instructions on how to download your images both onto your phone and a hard drive, and this link can be forwarded to anyone who wants it!
WHAT STEPS DO YOU TAKE TO ENSURE EVERYTHING GOES SMOOTHLY?
As far as things the day of, I try my best to communicate with detailed planning guides, questionnaires, etc. so we are on the same page and no two weddings are the same. As far as you guys feeling confident in rare event something goes wrong, know that I have NEVER had to miss a wedding (knock on wood), but will have a backup option for you in case of an emergency (like a death or hospitalization). On top of that, for weddings I always shoot EVERY photo on two SD cards and backup to multiple locations after the wedding, one being a cloud system, so that nothing gets lost.
DO YOU TRAVEL?
YES! I am always down to travel whether it be out of the city, out of the state or the country. Just let me know when and where to be.
DO YOU CHARGE TRAVEL FEES?
Yes. I charge mileage for anything more than an hour outside of Wichita, and then anything out of state requires my mileage, lodging, etc. to be covered!
WHO IS YOUR SECOND SHOOTER?
Something I ADORE about Wichita is the tight-knit photography community we have. I have a list of people that I reach out to and I always make sure the person who second shoots with me shares my values and treats my couples and their loved ones with the same amount of care I do. Most of my 2nd shooters are also full time wedding photographers so it depends on who doesn’t have a wedding of their own!
HOW MANY WEDDINGS DO YOU TAKE ON A YEAR?
Between 25-30 during a typical year, and usually no more than three weddings a month. I try to not take on TOO much because to be totally transparent with you, when I get overwhelmed or too busy I feel horrible and forget to take care of myself and my family and it’s way harder to keep up with all of the hats I wear. My clients are like family to me, and I want to make sure I have enough time to give everyone individual attention instead of just taking on as much as humanly possible.
WHAT GEAR DO YOU USE?
Fuji ALL THE WAY. I always shoot with two cameras on me so it’s hard to miss a moment. I also bring several flashes, have backup batteries, cards, etc. I have two 50mm lenses, an 85mm, a 23mm and a few more backup lenses! I’m all about being prepared!
DO WE HAVE TO PRINT OUR IMAGES THROUGH YOU?
Nope! ALL of my clients receive a print release as well as unlimited digital downloads for up to 30 days after the gallery is delivered to make sharing with loved ones easy peasy.
WHAT IF WE NEED TO RESCHEDULE OR CHANGE OUR PLANS?
I know that things happen and want to have as much flexibility with my clients as possible while also taking care of my business. Legally, the 30% retainer that is due at the time of booking is always non-refundable due to the preparation and work I do leading up to your session or wedding. You can change your date as long as I have it open and it’s within the same calendar year, but a new retainer will be required for weddings. If we need to change your portrait session due to weather, we can change it to any Monday-Friday date I have open and no further fees are needed as long as it is within 30 days of the original date.
HOW OFTEN DO YOU WORK AND WHEN ARE YOU AVAILABLE?
Over the past couple of years, I have had to learn boundaries which is something I encourage all business owners to do! Since I am my own boss and I adore my business and clients, I can easily work 7 days a week, 12 hours a day and always feel like there are things to get done.
I try to take Sundays and Monday off when I have a Saturday wedding. Emails are attended to Tuesday-Fridays and if it’s an emergency or my couple who has a wedding within the next few weeks needs something I am available as much as possible. Sundays are always family day!
CAN WE ADD COVERAGE OR ITEMS TO OUR PACKAGE AFTER BOOKING?
ABSOLUTELY! I know that booking your vendors is just the start, and as we dive into the planning process you can add anything (hours, albums, and engagement session, etc.) as we need!
WHEN SHOULD WE BOOK OUR ENGAGEMENT SESSION?
Please let me know as soon as you know you want to get on my calendar! I suggest booking a few months in advance, and more if you want to shoot during a busy season like fall or spring. I will send you a direct link to my personal calendar where you can choose a date that works best for you both!
